Friday, August 19

•We-Haul (all day)

Living on campus? Members from MTSU’s 300+ student organizations will be at your residence hall to help assist you during the move in process. You bring it, “We-Haul” it!

•Dinner | 6:30 p.m. | Student Union Commons

Come one, come all! There will be a free dinner Friday night for students and their families in the Student Union Commons.

•Outdoor Movie | 8 p.m.: Finding Nemo | Student Union Commons

Once the sun goes down and it is dark enough outside, we will then start the outdoor movie. We will be showing Finding Nemo. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and enjoy a movie under the stars.

 Saturday, August 20

•Dinner and Courtyard Carnival | 6 p.m. | Student Union Commons

There will be a free dinner Saturday night in the Student Union Commons for students and their families. There will also be lots of games and inflatables where you can test your skills both mentally and physically.

Sunday, August 21

•University Convocation: Special Guest Rajiv Chandrasekaran | 2 p.m. | Murphy Center

This event marks the beginning of a new academic year for MTSU students. Hear remarks from Rajiv Chandrasekaran – on of the authors of the MTSU summer reading book For Love of Country, President Sidney McPhee, Vice President Debra Sells, and SGA President Madison Tracy. Learn about traditions, hear the Band of Blue perform, and enjoy an MTSU "new year's eve."

•President’s Picnic following University Convocation | Floyd Stadium

Immediately following University Convocation, the President’s Picnic will take place. This is a free event for all who attend. Be prepared for delicious, traditional “cookout” foods and fun!

Tuesday, August 23

•Meet Murfreesboro | 10 a.m.–2 p.m. | Student Union Commons

Local businesses, restaurants, doctors’ offices, etc. will be set up in the Student Union Commons sharing information about the services they offer to students in the Murfreesboro area. Students can expect to load up on coupons, discounts, and free samples from many of Murfreesboro’s finest businesses.

Wednesday, August 24

•Meet Murfreesboro | 10am-2pm | Student Union Commons

Local businesses, restaurants, doctors’ offices, etc. will be set up in the Student Union Commons sharing information about the services they offer to students in the Murfreesboro area. Students can expect to load up on coupons, discounts, and free samples from many of Murfreesboro’s finest businesses.

Thursday, August 25

•MTSU Department Fair | 11 a.m.–1 p.m. | Student Union Commons

Departments from all over campus will come together to one centralized location to share information about what they do and resources they provide for students.

•Comedy Show | 7 p.m. | Murphy Center

Kick back, relax, and LAUGH with a free stand-up comedy performance. Free for all MTSU students.

Friday, August 26

•Raider Entertainment Variety Show | 8 p.m. | Tucker Theater

Come out and enjoy the entertainment!

Saturday, August 27

•SGA’s Fight Song Competition | 8 p.m. | Murphy Center

Come out and enjoy one of MTSU’s longest standing traditions. Watch student organizations compete in a singing and dancing competition using only lyrics of the MTSU Fight Song.

Monday, August 29

•Student Employment Fair | 11 a.m.–2 p.m. | Student Union Commons

Businesses will be present that are searching for student employees!

Tuesday, August 30

•Volunteer Fair | 10 a.m.–2 p.m. | Student Union Commons

Local non-profit organizations will come to campus in the Student Union Commons and share with students how they can get plugged into community service and volunteer opportunities with their organization. See how you can make a difference in the community!

Wednesday, August 31

•Student Organization Fair | 10 a.m.–2 p.m. | Student Union Commons

MTSU has over 300 student organizations to choose from. There is something for everyone! Come check out what MT has to offer and find out how you can become a part of something you enjoy.

Thursday, September 1

•Crash the Commons | 7–11 p.m. | Student Union Commons

This annual event will test your physical and mental abilities with classic field day games.

Saturday, September 3

•3rd Annual Future Alumni Tailgate | 3 hours before kickoff | Walnut Grove

The Office of Alumni Relations invites all new freshman and transfer students to the 3rd Annual Future Alumni Tailgate in Walnut Grove! Learn all you need to know about tailgating on your first MTSU game day. FREE FOOD, games, music and more will be waiting for you to celebrate your first game day experience as a BLUE RAIDER. Look for the tailgate tent set up in the Grove near the blue horseshoe. We’ll see you there!

•MT Football vs. Alabama A&M | TBA | Floyd Stadium

Come out wearing your MTSU Blue and cheer on the Blue Raiders to victory in their home opener.
