Is your student thinking about a way to get a jump start on their college career this summer? If so, here are the most noted benefits of summer classes that our students enjoy each year:
Summer session classes are a great way to complete required courses in order to get a jump start on the fall semester and stay on track to complete their degree in four years or less! Whether they are passionate about the subject matter, or simply want to complete the requirement quickly, your student will be well prepared for upcoming academic year.
By continuing their education in the summer, students can actually save money in the long run. Many students are often able to shave off a semester or two of college and save all the money that goes along with that: room and board, college fees, spending money, etc. The summer session also offers a unique discount to students taking 12 or more credits, which is equivalent to the full time tuition rate during the fall and spring.
Your student will have the unique opportunity to build a new community of friends and stronger relationships with university professors. Summer session classes typically have smaller enrollment, which provides for more networking and dialogue in the classroom. By jumping into summer session classes, your student will build lasting relationships with classmates and faculty that extend beyond the classroom. Parking is also plentiful, which is a real plus!
If your student needs a boost for their GPA, summer session classes provide an intensive format so students can devote their full attention to those challenging courses. This often leads to higher confidence and a stronger foundation to tackle the next academic semester and more advanced classes.
Summer session classes are offered in a variety of delivery formats – online, hybrid, lecture – so your student doesn’t have to choose between the beach, a job, or catching up on coursework. With accelerated formats and three different sessions over the summer, they can choose the schedule that best fits their busy lifestyle. Some students even choose to live on campus throughout the summer and the university now proudly offers a meal plan
Registration for summer courses began on March 19, but plenty of space is still available!
