Happy January! We hope you and your loved ones enjoyed a wonderful holiday break and are ready for 2017!
The Student Affairs staff is excited and ready to welcome students back to campus for the start of the spring semester. We have prepared an exciting Week of Welcome (WOW) with an array of parties, programs, lectures, sports, music events, movie nights and other fun activities to warmly welcome the students and get them ready for the academic work of the new semester.
As the University prepares for their return, we want to remind you of:
Residence halls reopen at 9:00 a.m.
First day of classes for the spring 2017 semester
Presidents Weekend — the University will be closed
Spring Recess — no classes

Final Exam Week
Winter can be full of weather surprises, so please remind your student that on days when snow and/or ice is in the forecast, university closings, delayed openings or early dismissal announcements will be made by 6 a.m. via the following:
If the University is open for part of the day, announcements regarding afternoon classes will be made by 10:00 a.m., evening classes by 2:00 p.m., and distributed as listed above.
Please note that the WeatherChek phone line 392-SNOW is no longer in service.
The decision to close the University or delay the opening is based solely on the safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff.
