Sports and Recreation Spring Semester Highlights

Encourage your KSU student to get moving with Sports and Recreation this spring semester! They can join an intramural sport, get started with personal training, master exercise movements, and go on an adventure outdoors.

Personal Training

Starting January 2018, the Department of Sports and Recreation will be offering new payment options for personal training! Students will be able to conveniently elect to have their Banner Account charged as payment instead of making cash or check payments.

The personal training program is a physical, psychological and emotional experience. Personal training will not only make you feel stronger, but also educate and empower you to take on a greater role in your personal fitness journey. Whatever your goals, our personal trainers will create a training program that fits your style.

Spring Intramural Sports

Registration for Spring Phase I of Intramural Sports starts Monday, January 8. Create your teams for 5v5 basketball, outdoor soccer, and bowling by Friday, January 19 at noon to secure a spot to compete for an Intramural Sports champion t-shirt!

OwlFit Foundational Movement Series

There are six foundational movement patterns every person should be able to develop, load and master. Developing sound movement patterns and challenging them through various training methods is the single most effective way to develop strength, build muscle and prevent injuries. Master your movement patterns with OwlFit!

First movement session is January 22, 5–6 p.m. in the Student Recreation and Activities Center, Group Exercise Studios 2 and 3.

One movement will be covered each session. Find the schedule here:

Outdoor Adventures

Nature Bound is part of the Outdoor Adventures program at Kennesaw State University. The program is founded on the principles of experiential learning to develop knowledge, leadership and community. Trips are offered throughout the semester and are open to anyone, novice to expert.

The spring semester is a great time to get involved with Nature Bound. Upcoming trips include snow skiing, hiking, backpacking, caving, rock climbing, zip-lining, mountain biking, whitewater rafting and kayaking!

Trip registration begins Monday, January 1 for Nature Bound Members and Wednesday, January 17 for non-members.
