Season's Greetings from the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs

Southern Connecticut State University

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Wright_Germaine_student_affairs-5513fmMy name is Dr. Jermaine Wright, the new Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, and I would like to wish you a happy holiday season and new year. A new year brings with it new beginnings, therefore we encourage your student to use this time to reflect on their accomplishments as well as areas for growth. In my capacity as AVP, I am responsible for the management and stewardship of the following departments within the Division of Student Affairs: University Access Programs, Student Involvement and Leadership Development, the Multicultural Center, the Michael J. Adanti Student Center, the Sexuality and Gender Equality (SAGE) Center and the John Lyman Performing Arts Center.

I also provide oversight for broad-based engagement and retention programs and services for students to create an environment in which students are engaged, persist, and thrive. I provide leadership for divisional initiatives to enhance the cultural awareness and competency of staff and students and create a more welcoming, just, and inclusive community. I mention these areas of responsibility so that you are aware of how I can be of assistance, if the need arises.

Thank you for your continuous support and partnership. I look forward to working with you in 2019. Have a happy and safe holiday season.

Best regards,
Jermaine Wright, Ph.D.
