Dear Parents and Guardians,
Happy January greetings! We hope that you and all your loved ones enjoyed a wonderful holiday break and that you are ready for 2019!
The Student Affairs staff is excited and ready to welcome students back to campus for the start of the spring semester. We have prepared an exciting Week of Welcome (WOW) — an amazing array of programs, parties, sports, music events, movie nights and many other fun activities to warmly welcome the students and get them ready for the academic work of the new semester.
As the campus prepares for their return, we want to remind you of some important spring semester dates:
Residence halls reopen for resident students at 9:00 a.m.
The first day of classes for the Spring 2019 semester.
Presidents Weekend — the University will be closed.
Spring Recess — no classes.
Day of Reflection — the University will be closed that weekend, April 19-21.
Final Exam Week
Winter can be full of weather surprises, so please remind your student that on days when snow and/or ice is in the forecast, university closings, delayed openings or early dismissal announcements will be made by 6 a.m., and if the University is open for part of the day, announcements regarding afternoon classes will be made by 10 a.m., evening classes by 2 p.m. via the following:
Please note that the WeatherChek phone line, 392-SNOW is no longer in service.
The decision to delay opening or close the University is based solely on the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff.
