Students can take advantage of our online job board available to students and alumni looking for full-time or part-time work, co-ops, internships, and on-campus student employment. Check out: JOBSs — Job Opportunities Benefiting Southern Students.
Students can meet one-on-one with a career counselor to discuss resumes, cover letters, job search, interview skills, and more.
Southern students have access to Focus,a web-based self-assessment tool designed to assist students in finding possible majors or career paths. Have your student make an appointment with us to discuss their results and create an action plan!
Whether your student is an entering first-year student or a senior, the Career Advising Student Handbook will help them navigate their journey from college to career. They can use the “Four Year Career Planning Guide” to stay on track with career planning activities such as choosing a major, getting career-related experience with co-ops or internships, and beginning their first professional job search. In addition, students will find a 5-step plan to help them choose a major, tips with their job search, interviewing strategies, and samples to help them with creating their resume, cover letter, and post-interview thank you letters.
