Resource of the Month: SCSU Academic Success Center

The SCSU Academic Success Center provides services that support students on their journey to gaining scholastic independence and achieving academic success. It serves the entire student body by helping students prepare, advance and academically excel.

The Academic Success Center helps students to become more independent and self-motivated learners, to master course material, and to develop and apply effective study strategies.  It provides an environment that is personal, caring, accessible and friendly where students can make it their home for academic support.

Tutoring is provided by peer Academic Specialists, high-achieving SCSU undergraduate and graduate students who were recommended by faculty.

Individual support is available by appointment in over 20 academic disciplines during the fall and spring semesters:

Online tutoring support is available in the following areas:

• Biology (BIO) 100, 102, 103, 104
• History (HIS) 100, 101, 110, 111
• Mathematics (MAT) 100, 100P, 112, 120, 122
• Political Science (PSC) 200, 260
• Writing (for undergraduates only)
