SCSU Residence Halls Closing May 17Southern Connecticut State University
Student Affairs has long been the home of Sooner Parents, OU’s premier parent and family organization. Over the years, Sooner Parents has grown in number and reach, providing hundreds of thousands of dollars of capital project funding, student scholarships, and funding grants for the OU Community.
Beginning in summer 2017, The Parent and Family Programs Coordinator will become the central contact point for families from all over the country. The PFP Office will be conveniently located in the Oklahoma Memorial Union and open during business hours and for special events involving families. We will utilize parents.ou.edu as the website for information and quick links to all campus resources — including Sooner Parents.
In addition to creating this critical outreach position, Student Affairs will present the first ever Parent and Family Orientation Sessions on campus this summer. Sessions will run in conjunction with two of our Camp Crimson July Sessions and one will be held in August during the first few days of Panhellenic Recruitment on August 10–11. All parents and family members are invited to register for one of these sessions tailored just for them.
Student Affairs strives to help student thrive, on campus and in life. We are eager to begin strengthening the University’s relationships with all of our students’ families in meaningful ways.
