Students can now complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)! To file the 2017–2018 FAFSA, go to www.fafsa.gov. MTSU’s federal school code is 003510.
The FAFSA is used to determine the student’s financial aid eligibility for Fall 2017 through Summer 2018 for various federal, state, and institutional programs. We recommend that students with financial need file the FAFSA as early as possible, due to the limited funding availability in some aid programs.
If this is the first time you and/or parents or spouse (if applicable) will be completing a FAFSA, then you and/or parents or spouse (if applicable) should apply for a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID at studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa/filling-out/fsaid. The FSA ID is used to login to certain federal websites to access financial aid information and to electronically sign federal student aid documents such as the FAFSA. If you already have an FSA ID, there is no need to apply for a new one. If your name has changed, you will need to edit your FSA ID information.
