Important Financial Aid Information

By Southern Connecticut State University

Financial aid deadlines are important to keep in mind as students plan out their next semesters of study. Now is a good time to review these deadlines with your students and make sure the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is fully completed as soon as possible.

SCSU’s priority date is March 15.

Please refer to our website for more information about eligibility requirements: www.southernct.edu/financialaid.  If you have any questions about financial aid procedures or deadlines, email us at financialaid@southernct.edu or call the SCSU Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships at (203) 392-5222.

You and your student are also invited to seek financial guidance from Student Financial Literacy and Advising which is devoted specifically to providing financial literacy and planning information for current and prospective students as well as their families. In his capacity as Coordinator, Lew DeLuca will work closely with you to increase your understanding about financial literacy, student aid programs and scholarships, interest rates, long-term financial obligations as well as the advantages of the timely completion of a degree. He will create individual, customized financial plans for students that can keep them on track, minimizing their college expenses.

Please encourage your student to contact Mr. DeLuca by email at delucal2@southernct.edu to schedule an appointment and get started on their path to financial literacy and successful money management. The office is currently located in the Wintergreen Building, room 108E within the Academic Advising Office, and the phone number is (203)392-8862.
