The fall semester ends soon! As your students prepare for the end of the semester, here is some important information to keep in mind.
Any student who is unable to attend an examination because of circumstances beyond their control (e.g., illness) or any student who has three exams on one day or has a conflict should notify their instructors first and then the Office of Academic Affairs, EN A 210, 203-392-5350, prior to or during the day of the exam. Evidence supporting the reasons for the absence should be submitted as soon as possible thereafter to the instructors.
On days when snow and/or ice is in the forecast, university closings, delayed openings or early dismissal announcements will be made by 6 a.m., and if the University is open for part of the day, announcements regarding afternoon classes will be made by 10 a.m., evening classes by 2 p.m. via the following:

The decision to delay opening or close the University is based solely on the safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff.

Residence Halls will officially close at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 15. Residence halls will be closed for the semester break and will reopen on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Students may request to stay on campus during intersession with approval from the Office of Residence Life, provided that the students are taking classes or working on campus during the intersession period. The cost per night for students who are taking classes during intersession is $34.00 per night. The cost for students with on-campus employment during intersession is $14.00 per night.
Residence halls will reopen at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16.
Is your student a commuter who is looking to live on campus for the spring semester? The Office of Residence Life is still accepting applications for Spring 2018 housing; Southern offers a variety of housing options to meet each student’s unique needs.
Students may request spring housing by visiting their MySCSU account and selecting BannerWeb. Click “Student Services” and then select “MyHousing Portal” to find the “Spring Housing Application and Deposit” option on the Applications dropdown menu.
