HOLDS on Accounts

University of Montevallo

Holds are applied to a student’s account to ensure that they take care of enrollment requirements. Some examples of these are student conduct sanctions, health forms/test results, and unpaid fees.

Some students are admitted to the University without turning in all of their health requirements.  A HOLD forces them to get this information turned in before they can register for their 2nd term.

Remind your student to check their account a few weeks before registration begins to see if a hold has been applied to their account.

This can be seen by going into Banner Self-Service through ForUM.  Until a hold is removed, students cannot register for classes.  Since registration for each class is limited, it is important that students be able to register on-time to get the section they need.
