Holds on Accounts

University of Montevallo

Holds are applied to a student’s account to ensure that they take care of enrollment requirements. Some examples of these are student conduct sanctions, health forms or test results, and unpaid fees. Some students are admitted to the University without turning in all of their health requirements. A hold forces them to get this information turned in before they can register for their 2nd term.

Remind your student to check their account a few weeks before registration begins to see if a hold has been applied to their account.

This can be seen by going into Banner Self-Service through ForUM. Until a hold is removed, students cannot register for classes. Since registration for each class is limited, it is important that students be able to register on time to get the section they need.
