Abroad in Japan

By University of Cincinnati Parent and Family Programs

Is your student interested in studying abroad in Japan for a semester or a year? The U.S. Japan Council has scholarship opportunities to cover the full cost for students to attend.

The U.S.-Japan Council is pleased to announce that the application portal for the 2019-2020 Toshizo Watanabe Study Abroad Scholarship has officially opened!

The Watanabe Study Abroad Scholarship provides financial assistance to undergraduates/graduate students for a semester or year-long study abroad program in either the United States or Japan. The scholarship has expanded to support not only Japanese students studying in the U.S. but also Americans studying in Japan (either degree-seeking/study abroad)! This scholarship is unique in that it offers up to the full cost of attendance for a semester or year of study abroad in the program of the applicant’s choice.

The scholarship program grants awards to recipients in amounts determined by individual financial need and other qualifications. 2019 marks the 2nd year to support American students studying abroad in Japan and the 4th year for Japanese students studying abroad in the United States.

The application deadline is February 17th 2019. Questions? Email watanabescholarship@usjapancouncil.org
