SCSU Residence Halls Closing May 17Southern Connecticut State University
(for FALL 2019–SPRING 2020)
Housing Re-Applications are up 33% from this same time last year. This means prime housing locations are filling up quicker than ever! We want to remind you that we are already accepting housing applications for next fall and spring (Fall 2019–Spring 2020 Academic year). If your student wishes to reside on campus, we strongly suggest beginning the application process as soon as possible.
Current on-campus residents receive priority assignments and apply before new residents if they apply by February 1, 2019. Students may apply at www.mtsu.edu/housing or in person by submitting an application to our office in Room 300 of the Keathley University Center. Keep in mind that current residents who apply by February 1 are still at competition with one another, so the earlier the completed application, the more likely your son or daughter will be able to secure one of their top picks! Please note: Students who apply after the February 1st Priority Deadline will still be able to participate in the self-assignment process until spaces are filled, but will be at competition with both new students and other late current applicants for space.
Students love using self-assignment because they get to see ALL of the available choices. Don’t miss out on this opportunity and apply today!
A friendly reminder that students in on campus residence halls must check out for Winter Break within 24 hours of their last final (December 10–14) or by 6:30 p.m. on Saturday December 15th (Graduating Seniors only!). If your student will be returning to MTSU for the Spring semester (and have not been granted a room change request), they may leave all of their belongings in the room, but be sure to take any valuables or needed items (think money, jewelry, laptops and tablets, passports, social security card, etc).
Residence Halls will remain closed from Saturday December 10th until Saturday January 12th at 9 a.m. Students are welcome to check back in throughout the weekend, any time after 9 a.m. on Saturday January 12th. Classes commence on Monday January 14, 2019.
Scarlett Commons and Womack Lane apartments will remain open during the Winter Break. Scarlett Commons will have 24 hour desk staff during this time, and will be available to assist students who need to check out of any on campus space (and will not be returning to MTSU for Spring 2019) while the University is closed.
If you or your student have questions concerning on-campus housing, please feel free to contact us at email@example.com or call (615) 898-2971, Monday–Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
