A Message from the Vice President of Student Affairs

By The University of Alabama Parent & Family Programs

Parents,

As I walk around campus, it’s easy to see that school spirit is at an all-time high during September as we gear up to cheer on our Crimson Tide football team. We are eager to share the infectious energy and fun with you and your student.

It’s incredibly important to us that parents have a chance to understand the experience we are offering their student at the Capstone. You have placed your trust in us to educate and enrich your child, and we do not take that responsibility lightly.

As your student continues to adjust to balancing college curriculum and extracurricular activities, here are a few questions you can ask to check on their progress:

  • Have you found a favorite place to study on campus?
  • Have you formed a study group with other students in your classes?
  • Are you getting plenty of sleep at night and eating healthy meals?
  • Are you working on any papers or projects?

Of course, our Student Affairs staff is also happy to help you and your child in any way that we can. Our mission to serve students and make their time at UA a rich and fulfilling experience that will boost them to greater heights after graduation remains our daily inspiration.

Roll Tide,

David L. Grady, Ph.D.
Vice President of Student Affairs
