The leaves are changing, and the temperatures are cooling on our campus. The feeling of fall is certainly in the air. I hope that the year is off to a good start for your student. As we approach the midpoint of the academic semester, mid-term exams are on the minds of many of our students. Instructors typically assign mid-term grades in 100/200 level classes to help students measure how well they are performing in their courses. Preparing for exams and balancing the demands of their fall activities might be stressful for your student. Maintaining a balanced diet, engaging in an active exercise regimen, and talking through their concerns can help contribute to healthy stress management behavior.
Additionally, students are most successful when they have a solid academic plan. The university offers many support systems and resources to help your student succeed. Encourage your student to take advantage of campus resources and best practices that will support their success at UA. Below are some helpful tips for your student.
And even as we work toward mid-term exams for the fall semester, planning for Spring 2017 has already started. Encourage your student to explore next semester’s schedule of classes under the Academic Tab of MyBama. Students should also connect with their academic advisor to review their academic progress, refine their academic plan, and develop a schedule of classes for the spring semester.
