I hope you have enjoyed a great winter break with your student. Back in Tuscaloosa, we are already preparing for the Spring 2017 semester and to welcome our students back.
One of the great things about being a student is getting to start over twice (or more) each year. The beginning of the spring semester is a time when students have a clean slate of sorts and can recommit to their work — inside and outside of the classroom.
As they get settled and begin new classes, we are here to offer whatever support we can. The Center for Academic Success is a great resource for tutoring and study skills. Get On Board Day is set for Wednesday, Jan. 18 to introduce students to new opportunities for the semester. It will be an exciting semester, and we want each student to get off to a great start on campus and in the classroom.
It’s never too early to encourage your student to begin thinking about their summer plans – from internships to study abroad and more. If your student will be graduating, encourage them to visit our Career Center. We have multiple career fairs taking place this spring, which will also be a great help to them.
Thank you for being such outstanding partners in your student’s success. I wish you all the best in 2017.
Roll Tide,
David L. Grady, Ph.D.
