University of Oklahoma Move-In 2019 — All you need to know!Sooner Parents
As I write this, our campus at The University of Alabama is blossoming. Everything is getting greener, tulips are in bloom, and the academic year is quickly drawing to a close.
This is a busy time, full of both excitement and stress. Recently, we shared with students information about the Ask Listen Refer Suicide Prevention Training Program, which is designed to help students recognize the risk factors and warning signs of suicide and respond appropriately. This 15–20-minute interactive training program can be found at AskListenRefer.org/ua. Ask Listen Refer is an interactive online program that has been shown to increase the ability of students to recognize and respond to peers at risk for suicide. We know that this is a helpful tool, and we hope they will utilize it.
This week is Honors Week at the Capstone, and on Friday we will celebrate a long-held UA tradition--the Tapping on the Mound. It’s always wonderful to see hard work pay off for our students and to have a chance to celebrate their many academic successes. We are also excited to host our first ever Senior Week the week of April 17-21. If you have a senior, be sure to encourage them to check out the unique opportunities we will be sharing soon.
Before we know it, May will be here, which brings with it graduation for many and summer experiences for the rest. If you and your student haven’t discussed plans for the summer, take a few moments to check in. Whether they are taking classes, working an internship, or coming home to reconnect, making sure you are all on the same page is always helpful.
