A letter to parents/guardians of graduating seniors

Southern Connecticut State University

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Congratulations on one of the most important milestones in your student’s life, and in yours — college graduation!

It’s just the beginning of a special relationship your new grad will have with Southern, and with the Alumni Association, for the rest of their lives. We offer a number of events and programs, both locally and nationally, which they can be involved in, starting with our alumni networks.

Alumni networks provide an opportunity for alumni to connect with each other in addition to staying connecting with the University. Networks include many counties in Connecticut, plus Boston, Washington D.C. and New York City. There are Southern alumni all over the country, so if they relocate in the next chapter of their lives, they’ll never have to feel too far away!

Please encourage your new grad to keep in touch with us by updating their contact information on the alumni website. We want to hear news of their accomplishments, see photos of them at alumni events, and be able to share periodic updates from campus.

We also have a strong online presence, so remind them to check their emails and to follow the Southern Connecticut State University Alumni social media pages for updates as well.

Again, our sincere congratulations to you and your entire family. Their relationship with Southern will not end when they walk across that stage — it’s only just beginning!
