The first few weeks of the fall semester are critical to the overall success of students in college, and research shows that students who do not connect with their institution during those critical first weeks are significantly less likely to succeed academically and have lower retention and graduation rates.
Connecting both inside and outside the classroom is essential for all new students, so please highly encourage your students to attend as many Week of Welcome activities as possible. If your student lives on campus, please stress how critical it is to stay on campus those first three weekends and NOT go home. It makes a huge difference for students to ensure they are fully experiencing a first year of college and not a 13th grade of high school.

It’s time to celebrate with the perfect gift for your new grad!
