2016 SCSU Family Day & Homecoming

Southern Connecticut State University

SCSU invites you to join other Southern Connecticut State University parents and families for a special time on campus during one of New Haven’s most beautiful seasons. Once again, Owl Family Day will happen during Homecoming which adds to the excitement and fun.

The 2016 Owl Family Day provides an opportunity for you to visit your student’s campus home, meet other SCSU alumni and families, talk with university faculty and staff, explore the campus, attend a city tour and cheer on the SCSU Football Owls to a victory over the Bentley Falcons! In addition, there will be a parade, tailgate party, vendors, a 5k Race, and much more.

Don't miss the excitement! All parents, family members and friends are welcome!

There is a nominal cost for Owl Family Day in the amount of $12.00 per person, free for children age 12 and under. No charge for your SCSU student.

Please visit the Owl Family Day web page to register online. Call (203)392-7220 with questions related to registration.

We encourage families who are traveling from a distance to make hotel reservations as soon as possible as rooms tend to book up fast in football season. See local hotel resources below.

Brian Culbertson is always striving to push the boundaries of the jazz scene, which is evident by his new album, Funk! The new set is a throwback to the stanky P-Funk records from back in the day combining infectious bass lines, greasy horn licks, sing-a-long hooks and of course, landing hard on the ‘One.’ This record is also a follow-up to his widely successful Bringing Back The Funk album from 2008, which was co-produced by the late Maurice White of Earth, Wind & Fire. With the 16 albums and counting, Brian Culbertson always brings his very best in all his broad-ranging musical endeavors and this new project is going to be reinforced by his high energy live performance.
