Shannon says: "I like to make these bars for quick and easy snacks when hiking or mountain biking with my four kids ages 10, 12, 15 and 16. They are great for boosts of energy and just the right amount of sweet and salty when on a trail. Also more cost effective than store-bought and less packaging!"

Easy No-Bake Trail Bars

  • 1 cup pitted dates
  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • salt

Place all in a food processor. Pulse until everything comes together to almost a paste. You can add the tiniest bit of water to the mixture if it appears too crumbly.

Lay plastic wrap in a loaf pan, on the bottom and up the sides. This is so the bars can be easily removed. Spray the wrap with cooking spray. Press your mixture in the pan. This will also bring it all together.

Stick in freezer for at least 30 minutes so the bars can be easily sliced. I usually store bars there and then slice and wrap as needed!
