University Counseling Services offers a wide variety of resources to help students adjust to life on campus.
Our primary purpose is to provide psychological support as students pursue academic and personal goals and to enhance the quality of their educational experience at Southern Connecticut State University.
Our licensed and professionally trained staff offer free counseling support to enrolled SCSU students in a variety of ways: through group sessions, one-on-one sessions, workshops and daily walk-in services for urgent situations. All services are designed to help students develop their strengths and confidence so that they can address life challenges effectively and be successful personally, socially and academically.
Mindful Life Coaching is also offered through our office. An eight-week series helps students to feel more centered and calm, and gives them the skills to manage life’s challenges in a more effective way.
